Wood Posts in Concrete

I'm building a railing on a concrete raised patio. The posts are going to be 6x6.

How would you recommend attaching the posts to the concrete so they are structurally sound while allowing whatever attaches them to not show.

Connecting Wood Posts to Concrete
by: Editor - Rich Bergman

There are lots of possibilities but I am going to advise you that I am the inventor of the Titan post anchor and so my response will be naturally biased.

That being said, it is one of the reasons I developed the product so that wood posts could be easily and reliably connected to flat surfaces.

The 6x6 anchor is quite beefy. If you space the posts at say 5 feet apart and tie it all into the railing sections and top rail you will end up with a strong finished rail and the connections to the concrete will keep the post bottoms high and dry. Then to complete the look you could use one of our two piece snap fit metal post skirts.

That is my suggestion but is by no means the only possibility. If anyone has some other helpful comments please share.
