Walk Out Basement Deck Design to Maximize Light

I am looking for design ideas for deck for a walk-out from the basement. I want to maximize the light coming to the basement and have as little of the deck as possible blocking off windows below it.

Glass is an option

One of the best ideas I have seen to provide better light to the windows below the deck is to install a frosted piece of tempered safety glass.

This is not cheap. Glass for such a purpose has to be thick enough to support weight, be tempered and then lightly sand blasted or frosted to dissipate the harsh light.

It looks beautiful and does wonders for allowing light to come down to the basement of the house.
