What is the right stair tread nosing distance? I am installing composite decking on stair treads and was told by a friend that the rounded nosing must extend out past the riser. If so how far out over is acceptable.

The allowable distance for stair tread nosing to extend beyond the riser is 0.75" to 1.25".
