Installing Stair Railing at The Right Angle by: Editor - Rich Bergman
The question of installing stair railing at right angle is a bit confusing because I am not sure if you mean a Right angle as in 90 degrees or if you mean the proper or correct angle.
I'll presume you mean that you would like the vertical balusters to be parallel to each other and the railing posts and this what you mean by the right angle.
It's tricky work because you first have to ensure the railing posts are vertical. Then measure the angle of the posts with the edge of the stair stringer using a sliding T bevel. Capture that angle and you now know exactly what the "right" angle is to cut your stair railing components at.
You should use a large work bench to lay all the railing components out on and then the work begins. I have done this using jigs and fixtures in the shop with air nailers and it goes quite quickly.
I hope this helps you. If any one else has some better ideas please share your thoughts to help Amy out.
