How to add a deck on to an existing above ground pool deck?

We moved into our house over 5 years ago and one of the features that I loved was our above ground pool - 21 inch with decking completely around it.

When you walk out our back door, you walk onto a small deck...maybe 8*10 feet (very small) and then there is a gate and a drop that leads out to our pool deck.

Our pool is on the left side of the house and to the right, we just have grass. Our pool is wonderful and my kids love it but it's a terrible area to entertain.

I really HATE our backyard (minus the pool) and I have no idea how to incorporate a new deck onto the old areas to make it beautiful and functional. I am a stay at home Mom so money is an issue but more than that... I stare at this area every day and I am embarrassed to have adults over to my back yard. I have attached a picture to show you what I mean.
