Hiding an A/C Unit with the deck?

We recently built a new house and our builder put our (enormous) A/C unit right in the front of our house. Can we build a deck over top to hide the a/c unit.

You should check your owners' manual to make sure you understand what the allowable clearance is if you plan to cover it. AC units need access to air to function properly and you may have a problem if you don't account for the proper clearance needed.
