Use different posts and fasteners to suit your application by: Editor-Rich Bergman
Not sure if you want to secure the anchor on a wall, horizontally or on a concrete flat surface. But either way you can, just have to use concrete screws. Pre drill with a single anchor as a template, install anchor to post, then secure anchor and post to wall with screws. GRK or Tapcons are fine, so are wedge bolts and expansion bolts.
For a gate on a free standing post you just have to consider height as the tall the post the greater the leverage.
A 4x4 36" free standing post using larger 3/8x5" lags will give you a top load rating about about 380 lbs. Add one of our Power bolts (horizontally mounted at base) and that goes up about 20-25% and you could probably be quite happy with a post that is say 4' to 4-6".
For taller posts I would suggest a 6x6 anchor. The regular Titan 6x6 on a 42" post loads to 503 lbs on average and the Titan Max on a 42" post loads on average to 641 lbs. So at 4', 5' and 6' you are going to be amazed. Your gate won't be going anywhere in this lifetime.
I won an inflatable 6 person inter hot tub. I have a large deck. 12x 20 on both sides of the house. With a header to the house and the deck was built 6
I'm putting a swim spa into an inground concrete bunker and will build a deck around it. I have been advised to keep the deck joists a minimum of 6 inches
