Spacing between deck boards when wet and dry by: Editor-Rich Bergman
If the boards are wet, you can place them together and when they dry out you will be left with about 1/4" spaces. If they are dry, use a 3.5" spiral nail as a spacer. Works great. And will leave enough room for the boards to expand.
